Barbara Chiminello is known for her bold colors and her exciting brushwork. She is inspired by the interplay of light and shadows, and her paintings have a distinctively fragmented style.
Barbara has lived and traveled all over the world and is never without her camera and sketchbook. Most recently, she exhibited and sold her work throughout the greater-Washington DC area. She won a Best of Show from the Del Ray Artisans for a painting in her cherry blossom series, and twelve of her paintings were showcased in the 2007 calendar of historical houses in Alexandria, Virginia. (They are currently part of the private collection of the National Association of Home Builders in Washington). She has had a number of solo shows, including one at the Durant Arts Center in Alexandria and the University Club in DC.
She is currently living in New York and working on a series of cityscapes and park scenes.
